A post about the Holidays, Artemis II, and Earth

Today (evening) starts the Jewish Passover Holiday, and Easter is this weekend. I am not sure how I feel about wishing “Happy Holidays” under the current geopolitical climate.

Is it really a happy holiday?

Then I thought about the meaning of Passover, which is also called the “Freedom Holiday”.

With the Artemis II launch to the Moon, the livestream is playing in the background. Here are my thoughts and wishes for all of us here on Earth.

Freedom.

I wish us freedom from fear, hate, fascism, theocracy, nationalism, racism, misogyny, corruption, greed.

Freedom from war, famine, and disease — just like the futuristic world Captain Janeway described on Star Trek Voyager.

While the Artemis crew make their flight around the Moon and see Earth from space, they will not see artificial boundaries of countries, religions, or gender. They wouldn’t even see humans.

Earth is just a blue planet full of water, some land mass, and white clouds.

Adding the meaning behind Easter, let us go through resurrection and create a better world.

May this month be a launch pad for a world fuelled by love and respect to one another and to the planet we are all sharing. A world where we cooperate to create a loving, nurturing living environment for all creatures currently cohabiting Earth.

May this holiday season bring you joyful moments with your family and friends, love and light.

As four of us will be flying to the Moon to play among the stars.
