Spiritual Healing / Energy Work / Huna

There are many posts, articles and books about spiritual healing and energy work. I don’t intend to replace them or contradict your understanding of what healing is. I have no medical background and I don’t follow a specific spiritual teaching.

All I can describe here is my knowledge and understanding of spiritual healing based on my experience of energy, working with energy, facilitating healing and my studies of the art and science of Huna.

So what is spiritual healing – spiritual healing is healing on all levels: soul/spirit, mind and body. Most methods of spiritual healing use energy to facilitate healing.

Energy work – is the use of energy to create change in the client’s body or mind.

Working With Energy:

I have a gift of channelling energy and assisting others in creating changes in their body and mind and consequently in their life. The modality I use to channel energy and facilitate healing is Huna.

I’ve been aware of energy and my ability to sense and channel energy long before I studied Huna, which made the studying and application of Huna much easier and more powerful.

It doesn’t matter what modality or technique is used, I have found that working with energy is, in principle, the same.

I am not using my energy and I am not the one to create the healing or change in the client’s body or mind.

I channel universal energy to facilitate healing in the client’s energy makeup. I am merely an energy conductor. The truth is each one of us has inherent in us the ability to heal. The same way our body can heal a scratch on the skin.

Another way to look at it – is taking a warm bath to relax tight muscles. The water itself does not relax the muscles. The body relaxes the muscles in response to the warmth of the water.
With spiritual healing the practitioner will be the bath (or the hot pipe :)) channelling the energy [water] to relax tight muscles i.e., facilitate self-healing in the client’s body/mind.

My work is based on two premises:

  1. Everything is energy: our thoughts, feelings and cells.
  2. Everyone can heal themselves, given the right conditions.

Based on those premises a change in our energy makeup can trigger a change in our body, our thoughts and / or our feelings. With energy work or spiritual healing we take the mind-body connection one step further to energy-mind-body or mind-body-energy connection.

Have you ever noticed when you think negative thoughts or are upset your energy levels drop and you are more prone to get sick? On the other hand when you are thinking positive thoughts or being happy you suddenly have lots of energy, and feel healthier than ever? That’s the mind-body-energy connection.

What is Huna?

Huna in Hawaiian language means secret / spiritual / concealed knowledge or wisdom protected knowledge which is not immediately obvious.
Kahuna in Hawaiian language means priest / sorcerer / magician / wizard / minister / expert in any profession (i.e in a specific Huna).
In ancient Hawaii there were Kahunas for every profession, from boat builders, agriculture specialists to herbalists, psychologists and mystical initiators.

The Huna system I studied is a modern spiritual healing approach inspired by interpretations of Hawaiian concepts.

In the context of spiritual healing Huna is a form of healing based on the ancient following metaphysical principles: everything is energy; we are all connected; and we are the creators of our universe i.e., the authors of our own life.

Huna principles and practices empower the individual to take responsibility for their own life in order to create the life they want whether it is physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. The Huna practitioner is a facilitator assisting the client in creating the change.

Huna can be practised ‘in content’, where the client discusses the issue/problem with the practitioner prior to the session or ‘content free’ where the practitioner doesn’t need to know the content of the issue/problem.

Since Huna can be practised ‘content free’ it can also be practiced with children, toddlers and animals, family members and groups.

Personally, I found Huna to be quick and powerful in facilitating change. And I use it for physical, emotional, mental or spiritual problems and for changing belief systems. I use it on myself on a regular basis and when I work with clients. Huna has far more applications than just facilitating healing.

If you have never experienced huna I would recommend a treatment with Leor. Gentle, non-invasive, and quick it goes straight to the issue whether mental, physical, or spiritual, and shifts the energy. The heat I experienced stayed with me for days along with the sense of well being and bliss.
